Port Restrictions

GENERAL

  • Are there any restrictions on vessels whose previous port call was from COVID -19 high risk countries?
    • All persons on board are subject to health screening under the Quarantine Act. At first port of arrival, the vessel agent or captain/vessel operator MUST submit the pre-arrival information and the mandatory traveller health screening form (attached) for ALL persons on board. This paperwork must be submitted to MarineE-PAN.PAC-CBS@cbsa-asfc.gc.ca or reported in by telephone at 604-713-9840 or 604-713-9810 regardless of the time of day.
    • All ships from foreign countries must report to Transport Canada, the Prearrival Information Report (PAIR96) 96-hours before entering Canadian waters. Once Transport Canada receives the report, they will confirm the health status of the crew with the master. Reports are shared with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) for immediate action. If needed, directions are given to the ship and to stakeholders like port operators and pilots. Transport Canada is also working with other government partners like the Canada Border Services Agency, the Canadian Coast Guard, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
    • Any changes made after the (PAIR96) is submitted, the ship must immediately report changes to Transport Canada
