Port Restrictions

  • GENERAL
    • Are there any restrictions on vessels whose previous port call was from COVID -19 high risk countries?*
      • As per Brazilian Sanitary Authority Technical Note No. 65, all vessels are authorized to berth and operate as long as crew members on board are healthy and documents submitted to local Port Authorities are in order. However, crew shore leaves are still forbidden (except in case of a medical emergency on board) as well as, if a vessel has called high risk country less than 14 days prior arrival in Brazil, Sanitary Authority may require that vessel stays under quarantine until the 14 days are completed prior granting Free Pratique (subject to specific regulation at each Brazilian port).
    • Are there any restrictions on crew who embarked from COVID -19 high risk countries or specific nationalities?
      • Sanitary Authority may require below mentioned measures prior to granting Free Pratique (subject to specific regulation at each Brazilian port)
        • 14 days quarantine (starting from departure date from high risk area); and/or
        • COVID-19 test to be performed in all crew members on board.
          • Crew Change permitted?
            • Yes, but subject to the following conditions
              • Joiner(s)
                • Holder of valid Passport and Seafarers Identity Document (SID) or Seaman´s book issued...

Flight Restrictions

  • Passengers must have
    • a COVID-19 vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure from the first embarkation point; or
    • a negative COVID-19 antigen or RT-PCR test taken at most 1 day before departure from the first embarkation point.
  • The certificate or test result must be in English, Portuguese or Spanish.
    • This does not apply to
      • passengers younger than 12 years;
      • passengers with
        • a positive COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at least 15 days before departure from the first embarkation point; and
        • a positive COVID-19 RT-PCR test taken at most 1 day before departure from the first embarkation point; and
        • a medical certificate issued by a medical practitioner specifying that they do not have any COVID-19 symptoms and able to travel.
  • The test result must be in English, Portuguese or Spanish.
